05.08.2026 Cotton Sector Discussed at Aydın Commodity Exchange

Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of İzmir Commodity Exchange Bülent Uçak and his accompanying delegation visited Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aydın Commodity Exchange Fevzi Çondur.

During the visit at Aydın Commodity Exchange, the current state of the sector was discussed ahead of the upcoming cotton season. The visit covered a range of topics, from production and trade to quality standards and market expectations, with the participants discussing issues that could contribute to the development of the sector.

Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board of Directors Fevzi Çondur stated that the cotton sector has been facing significant challenges in recent years, including rising production costs, low producer incomes, and a decline in cultivation areas, saying:

“We consider it important to discuss the expectations of our sector and the issues requiring solutions with all our stakeholders ahead of the new season. Ensuring that our producers can continue production, maintaining quality and productivity in cotton, and strengthening the competitiveness of Turkish cotton are among our top priorities.”
