Aydın Commodity Exchange Assembly President A. Bahri Erdel attended the panel titled “Cooperativism from Local to Global,” organized in cooperation with the Aydın Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU), and ÖR-KOOP as part of the International Year of Cooperatives events.

Held at the Aydın ADU Atatürk Congress Center – Aydın Bey Hall, the panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Gökhan Çınar, Vice Dean of the ADU Faculty of Agriculture. The event featured in-depth discussions on the role of cooperatives in local development, their contribution to social solidarity, their impact on women’s entrepreneurship, and their importance in achieving sustainable economic growth.

Speakers also addressed how the cooperative model in Türkiye aligns with global developments and examined the structural challenges faced in this process from an academic perspective.

The panel provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on strengthening cooperatives’ contribution to inclusive and sustainable regional development.
