Aydın Commodity Exchange Assembly President A. Bahri Erdel attended the September 7 Commemoration Program held to mark the 104th anniversary of Aydın’s liberation from enemy occupation.

The program began at 09:30 with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk Monument in front of the Aydın Governor’s Office. Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued at Atatürk City Square with the participation of protocol members and citizens.

The program marked the 104th anniversary of Aydın’s liberation from enemy occupation with great enthusiasm, while the heroism of the people of Aydın during the Turkish War of Independence and their important role in the struggle for independence were commemorated once again.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Aydın Commodity Exchange Assembly President A. Bahri Erdel stated that September 7 holds an important place in Aydın’s history and said: “September 7 is one of the most important symbols of Aydın’s struggle for independence and freedom. On this meaningful day, I commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades in arms, as well as all the heroes who fought for the independence of our homeland, with mercy, gratitude and respect. I celebrate the 104th anniversary of Aydın’s liberation and wish our city many more years of unity and solidarity.”
