10.07.2026 The Future of Aydın Figs Discussed with Sector Stakeholders

The Fig Sector Stakeholders Meeting, held under the chairmanship of Aydın Governor Dr. Osman Varol, was attended by AK Party Aydın Deputies Seda Sarıbaş and Ömer Özmen, Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, representatives of relevant public institutions and organizations, sector stakeholders, and producers.

Aydın Commodity Exchange was represented at the meeting by Chairman of the Board Fevzi Çondur and Deputy Assembly Chairman Ali Çevik.

During the meeting, the current situation of the fig sector, which is of strategic importance for Aydın’s agricultural production and exports, was evaluated in detail. Discussions focused on the processes from production to export, expanding sustainable production practices, improving quality and productivity, supporting producers, encouraging value added production, and maintaining the strong position of Aydın figs in international markets.

Commenting on the meeting, Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board Fevzi Çondur stated that Aydın figs are of strategic importance for both the provincial economy and national exports. Çondur emphasized that a shared vision and cooperation among all sector stakeholders will make a significant contribution to ensuring sustainability in production, further improving quality standards, and strengthening the competitiveness of Aydın figs in international markets.

The meeting concluded with evaluations on the current needs of the fig sector, challenges encountered, and future goals, as well as the exchange of views and suggestions.
