12.08.2026 Sector Representatives Visit Governor Varol

Aydın Governor Dr. Osman Varol met with sector representatives at his office to assess the city’s economic potential and production capacity.

Cengiz Ülgen, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aydın Commodity Exchange, also took part in the visit. During the meeting, the issues on the agenda and challenges facing the dried fig sector, one of Aydın’s strategic agricultural products, throughout the process from production to exports were discussed. Assessments were also made on enhancing the sustainability of the sector and strengthening its export competitiveness.

The visit was also attended by Yusuf Gabay, Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association; Gökhan Maraş, Chairman of Aydın Chamber of Industry; Nurettin Kırlıoğlu, Chairman of Nazilli Commodity Exchange; and Melih Akça, General Manager of Akça Holding.
