The first purchase ceremony for Chestnut that is 2021/2022 season happened at Aydın Commodity Exchange. 

For Aydın Chestnut registered by EU, is one of Aydın's important agricultural products, has started the harvest season. Aydın Commodity Exchange received first Aydın Chestnut of 2021/2022 season from producers as 120 TL per kilos. 

Aydın Governor Mr.Aksoy, Aydın Agriculture and Forestry Provincial  Assistant Manager Hamit Eray, Aydın Commodity Exchange Vice President of the Assembly Rıza Uyar, Chairman of the Board Fevzi Çondur, Vice Chairman Cengiz Ülgen, Board Member Kazım Günaydın, Members Adem Türkmen and Mehmet Ali Avcu, Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporter's Association Vice Chairman Hayrettin Uçak, Aydın Chambers of Industry Vice Chairman Merve Alpargun Altıntaş, Efeler Chamber of Agriculture Chairman of the Board Mehmet Kendirlioğlu and Germencik Chamber of Agriculture Chairman of the Board Şehabettin Çapakçıoğlu provided participants to the first chestnut purchase ceremony of 2021/2022 was held at Aydın Commodity Exchange.

Stating that they were together for the Chestnut Purchase Ceremony of the 2021/2022 Season, Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy stated that Turkey ranks 4th in chestnut production and Aydın Province is in 1st place. Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy whoexpress that Aydın province has realized a third of chestnut production added that they hope the same quality and the same amount of chestnut production will take place in this year as in previous years and it will be presented to people both in Turkey and in abroad. The first chestnut of the season was symbolically purchased by Aydın Commodity Exchange as 120 TL per kilos said Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy. Mr. Aksoy wished the 2021/2022 Chestnut Season to be auspicious.

In a statement for 2021/2022 Season Chestnut First Purchase Ceremony, Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Board of Aydın Commodity Exchange said ''We have made the first product purchase of the 2021/2022 season in  Commodity Exchange today. Our hope is that our chestnut will have a productive harvest season. We wish that the 2021/2022 Season Chestnut First Purchase Ceremony, which we have carried out in Commodity Exchange, will be good for all our producers, traders and provinces.''

Commenting on the start of the 2021/2022 Chestnut Season, Fevzi Çondur, Cahirman of the Board of Aydın Commodity Exchange, stated that there is a decrease in agricultural products yields in general due to the drought experienced in our province this year and that this decrease may be reflected in chestnut production. 

Stating that Aydın is the most active producer for chestnut in our country, Fevzi Çondur who is Chairman of the Board of Aydın Commodity Exchange expressed that Aydın Chestnut which  differences from all world in terms of its quality and the fourth production of our country as having Geographical Sign registered by European Union on September, 24, 2020 is known in international trades .

Çondur, stating Aydın is the top producer in Chestnut across our country said that ''nearly 26,000 tons of chestnut were produced in our city, which was aound 76, 000 tons in 2020. Chestnut are regarded not only as domestic market consumption but also as an export product, especially as the Aydın Chestnut that nearly 9,000 tons of products were exported' in last year.''

Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman Fevzi Çondur stated that they expected an increase of price for chestnut, given the fact that chestnut was sold at 21 Turkish Liras per kilos in last year as an average supplier and that global commodity prices are on the rise. '' All products have a decline in yield due to the drought to our proince has experienced. We are also waiting for this reduction in the chestnut's price. We estimate that production will lose efficiency between 10-20 percent. However, as a result of the high quality standars we have achieved this year, we are hopeful that the differences will be closed with price and quality. We hope that this 2021/2022 season will bring more excellent success to manufacturers, merchants and exporters, and it will bring prosperity.''

Those who delivered the first chestnuts of the season to the Aydın Commodity Exchange, Bilal Okumuş and Halit Bilgen from Köşk , Muhsin Kıyar and Kadir Bayındır from Eğerikavak district, Efeler expressed that the quality of this year is high and wished a fertile season.
