30.07.2026 Chairman Çondur Attended the Meeting for the Introduction of the Fig Regulation

Under the chairmanship of Aydın Governor Dr. Osman Varol, an introductory meeting on the Fig Regulation was held for the fig sector. The meeting, held at the Fig Research Institute, was attended by district governors, representatives of relevant public institutions and organizations, heads of chambers, and sector stakeholders. Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman Fevzi Çondur represented Aydın Commodity Exchange at the meeting.

The meeting addressed the activities to be carried out under the Fig Regulation during the new harvest season. Regulations concerning the production and trade of ilek (male figs), as well as drying, storage and hygiene requirements aimed at maintaining product quality and inspection mechanisms, were discussed. Participants were also informed about the control procedures to be implemented throughout the season and the administrative measures to be taken in cases of non-compliance with the legislation.

Following the meeting, Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman Fevzi Çondur emphasized the strategic importance of figs for Aydın’s economy and Türkiye’s agricultural exports, stating: “Figs are among the most important export products of Aydın and Türkiye. We consider it highly valuable for sector stakeholders to come together ahead of the new season, receive information on the Fig Regulation, and exchange views. It is important for all our stakeholders, from producers to exporters, to act with a shared sense of responsibility. This will make an important contribution to maintaining product quality and strengthening the reputation of Aydın figs in national and international markets.”
