7.07.2026 Aydın Commodity Exchange Participated in the “Defending the Future of Agriculture” Program

The “Defending the Future of Agriculture” program, organized in cooperation with Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture and the “Doctors of the Soil” program, was held at the Ömer Faruk Durdu Hall of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Moderated by Harun Göksel, agricultural journalist, author of Tarım Pusulası, and producer of the “Defending the Future of Agriculture” and “Doctors of the Soil” programs broadcast on Köy TV, the program addressed topics including agricultural sustainability, olive oil quality and the process of achieving higher standards, the current status of fig and chestnut cultivation, model organisms, smart water management, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board Fevzi Çondur participated in the program as a panelist and shared his evaluations on the future of agricultural production, the impacts of climate change on the agricultural sector, productivity, quality, and sustainability in production.


 

In his speech, Çondur highlighted Aydın’s strong agricultural production potential and emphasized that sustainable agriculture is not limited to the production process alone, but requires a shared sense of responsibility throughout the entire value chain from producers to consumers. He stated that quality focused production, particularly in olives, olive oil, figs, chestnuts, and other agricultural products with geographical indications, will make a significant contribution both to strengthening the regional economy and ensuring the future of agriculture.

The program, which attracted great interest from academics, sector representatives, and students, concluded after participants shared their views and evaluations regarding the future of agriculture.
