Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, wishing a productive harvest season to the producers within turning the harvest season of cotton in Aydın, signed any decrease isn't  matter of productive of the cotton in spite of the drought that have been had as regards last year and more than 500 kilos have had harvested in the fields.  Mr. Çondur, who stated the rises of cotton's prices content the producers, said that '' Cotton's prices has rised to 11 thousand liras now when its tone was around 4 thousand 750 liras last year. The rises of prices seriously content the producers. Recent rises of input costs have not reflected in production of 2021 year. The costs are substantially expected to increase in next years. But our producers has achieved significant revenue wit an average price of 500 kilos and a net purchase price of 11 kilos in this year.'' Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, stating they hope that the yield will continue in this way until the end of the harvest season, added that if the prices doesn't change, a significant revenue increase will be recorded for the producers.

Production Needs To Be Supported to Reduce Dependence on Imports

Production needs to be supported in order to reduce dependence on imports Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, stated that the amount of support, which is 1 Lira 10 Cents, will be the same this year and is sufficient with the current yield average and price and it may be reasonable that the support does not increase especially in this year. Mr. Çondur said, '' We expect a certain increase in the amount of support for the next year, taking into account the increases in input costs. Because we need in particular raw materials and cotton to the next year. Our textile industry currently consumes around 1 Million 700 thousand tons. Our own production is about 700 thousand tons. Also we have a certain export of cotton. That's why we are in the position of importing twice as much as we produce. Production needs to be supported to reduce the dependence on imports. Particularly, due to the increase in input costs, we demand that the support premium increase to at least one and a half liras''.

Licenced Storages Have Importance For Ginnery

Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange who stating that licenced storages have importance for ginnery, explained relating to activities of licenced storages. Mr. Çondur, '' The published licensed warehouse communique does not address the producers, again. Cause the producers can not use licensed warehouses by contracting their own cotton in ginnery. Cotton is not a trade good that could be stockpiled when harvested directly from the field, such as wheat and corn. First ginnig process needs to be done. Therefore, as we stated in our report to the ministry, it is our demand that ginnery be included in the scope of support and that licensed warehouse supports be benefited. For this purpose, Büyük Menderes Agricultural Products Licenced Warehouse Inc. was established in partnership with Aydın Commodity Exchange, Söke Commodity Exchange and İzmir Commodity Exchange with the support of GEKA and IZKA. We are also working hard to start the operation of Büyük Menderes Agricultural Products Licenced Warehouse Inc. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this process. Next year we are working to launch this licenced warehouse. Licenced warehouses are very valuable, especially in years when there is a lot of goods, when demand is low and supply is high. In addition, these licenced warehouses are really important for us in terms of maintaining the quality of cotton in cotton''.

Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, stated that they hope to receive the 2022 crop cotton to The Büyük Menderes Agricultural Products Licenced Warehouse Inc., located in the Soke Argavlı neighborhood, and that work holds in this direction, and wished that the cotton harvest season of 2021 would be good for all producers.
