21.05.2026 Aydın’s Agricultural and Cultural Values Highlighted at the 82nd TOBB General Assembly

Aydın Commodity Exchange’s stand at the local products exhibition held at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Headquarters as part of the 82nd TOBB General Assembly attracted significant attention from visitors. The event brought together chambers and commodity exchanges from different regions of Türkiye, highlighting Aydın’s geographical indication products, agricultural values, and rich gastronomic heritage.

At the stand prepared by Aydın Commodity Exchange, Aydın Kestanesi (Aydın Chestnut), Aydın Memecik Zeytinyağı (Aydın Memecik Olive Oil), Aydın Memecik Zeytini (Aydın Memecik Olive), Aydın Çam Fıstığı (Aydın Pine Nut), and Aydın İnciri (Aydın Fig), all registered as geographical indications in the European Union, were showcased together with Aydın Enginarı (Aydın Artichoke) and Aydın Yamalak Sarısı Zeytini (Aydın Yamalak Sarısı Olive), which are registered as geographical indications in Türkiye. The products, reflecting Aydın’s strong agricultural production capacity and distinctive local values, received great appreciation from visitors.

As part of the programme, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), visited the Aydın Commodity Exchange stand, where he was presented with a specially prepared basket featuring Aydın’s geographical indication products. During the visit, the importance of protecting, promoting, and increasing the economic value of geographical indication products for regional development was emphasized.

Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Board of Aydın Commodity Exchange, stated that the event represented an important gathering for promoting Anatolia’s cultural and agricultural richness, and said:

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Aydın’s unique products at this valuable event organized as part of the 82nd TOBB General Assembly. Geographical indication products are significant assets that reflect the cultural identity and production traditions of their respective regions. As Aydın Commodity Exchange, we are committed to continuing our efforts to protect, promote, and preserve these products for future generations. Representing Aydın Commodity Exchange, the following participants attended the local products exhibition held within the scope of the 82nd TOBB General Assembly: Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Board; A. Bahri Erdel, Chairman of the Assembly; Ali Çevik and Ahmet Şenel, Deputy Chairmen of the Assembly; Cengiz Ülgen, Deputy Chairman of the Board; Rıza Uyar, Member of the Board; Adem Türkmen, Mehmet Ali Avcu, and Mustafa Hakan Adalı, Members of the Assembly; and Neslihan Duymaz, Secretary General.

The event provided an opportunity to promote Aydın’s agricultural richness, cultural values, and local products on a national platform. It contributed to the promotion of the province while also playing an important role in increasing the recognition of geographical indication products.
